I‘m so happy to share our interview Coach Amanda Jane, a professional Competition Prep Coach, CEO of Train with Girls Online and also an online podcast host.

Amanda specializes in helping women attain long term results they can maintain. She has a large focus on metabolism and getting women out of the yo-yo diet cycle. Her specialty is the booty and achieving a toned body. Oh and she’s very pregnant when we asked her these questions so she’s full of great pregnancy advice!!

Are you able to keep up a workout routine while pregnant? What does your workout schedule look like?

Sure am! I weight train 3-4 times each week and try and go one a nice big walk.

What’s your favourite workout and did you have to adjust it for pregnancy?

Lower body for sure! I have decreased my weight and increased my reps to reduce intra-abdominal pressure. And sadly I've had to swap out my heavy hip thrusts for a dumbbell :P

What 2 (or more) workouts should you avoid when pregnant? And Why?

Barbell Hipthrusts - having a heavy bar across your belly can squish your growing bub! You also should be mindful of exercises that cause high intra-abdominal pressure (plyometrics & heavy lifts).

What are your top 3 workouts for pregnancy and what are their benefits?

I am still loving my lower glute focused sessions to keep my pelvic stability high! The relaxin you produce during pregnancy causes your ligaments to relax which can leave you very susceptible to injury - limit any exercises that put unnecessary twist or strain on your joints and instead do controlled movements to keep the muscular integrity of your body high!

Do you have any nutrition/diet tips for pregnancy?

You don't need to "eat for two" but it also is not a time for dieting. The nutritional goal during pregnancy is to NOURISH :)
